ministry
The definition we believe ministry is at The Stadium Vineyard:
"Ministry is using
whatever God has given me to serve him and the needs of others."
WE MINISTER IN THREE DIRECTIONS
1• First we minister to THE LORD.
We do it through worship. When we worship, we are
actually ministering to God. We're using what God has given us to serve Him.
2• Then we minister to OTHER BELIEVERS.
Hebrews 6:10 talks about ministering to other
Christians.
3• Then we also minister to UNBELIEVERS.
Matthew 5:13 talks about "You are the salt
of the earth. You are the light of the world."
The Purpose of Ministry
“There are different kinds of service to God, but it is the same Lord we are serving.
The Holy Spirit displays God’s power through each of us as a means of helping the
entire church. All of you together are the one Body of Christ and each one of you
is a separate and necessary part of it.” 1 Cor. 12:27
Not only are there 3 kinds
of ministry, but likewise we minister to three areas of need. You're made of a spirit,
a soul, and a body and we believe ministry involves those three things.
1• We minister to people's physical needs.
Matthew 10:42, "If, as my representative, you give even
a cup of cold water to a little child, you will surely be rewarded."
2• To people's emotional needs.
“…Warn the idle, encourage the timid, help the weak, be patient
with all.” 1 Thess. 5:14 (GN)
3• To people's spiritual needs.
2 Corinthians 5:18,
"God reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation."
